What bulk castor oil is
Castor oil is pressed from the seeds of Ricinus communis. Our bulk listing is cold-pressed and hexane-free: pressed mechanically, not extracted with chemicals, which is why the oil keeps its natural nutrients and thick, rich texture. The listing states USDA-certified organic.
Bulk sizes range from 5 lb to a 440 lb drum. It is the same oil as our retail bottles, priced by the pound for people who use a lot of it.

What to check before you order
- Extraction methodPressed or solvent-extracted, refined or not, roasted or not. Cold-pressed oil is not roasted, so it is lighter in color and smell than Jamaican black castor oil. See organic vs regular castor oil.
- Certification paperworkIf your own label will say organic, ask for the documentation behind it and keep it with your batch records.
- Size and packagingMatch the size to the batch you plan to make, and remember a thick oil handles differently from a thin one.
- Intended useOurs is cosmetic grade and for external use only. It is not for ingestion.
